Watercolour Course: Still Life and Flowers in Simplification
This event has passed
info
Still Life is a recurring theme in course leader Carina Köster's artwork. She describes herself as having "a passion for objects in groups or individually."
During the course at The Nordic Watercolour Museum, we will focus on what Köster refers to as “simplified watercolour painting,” a more modern and freer expression compared to traditional watercolour techniques. As a participant, you will explore quick and sketch-like methods using tools such as knives, paper tissues, and wide brushes to simplify your expressions. We will also examine still life throughout art history and draw inspiration from how other artists have depicted this subject.
The course days will be playful and experimental, and we hope the course will provide you with new insights into your own watercolour painting. A materials list will be emailed well in advance of the course start. This course is aimed at those with basic knowledge of watercolour painting.
