Ships' Portraits 9.12 - 27.1, 2002
This was an exhibition of ships' portraits from two different archipelagoes -Tjörn in Sweden and Åland in Finland - where maritime trade is still of major importance. But this is far from being an exhibition by local or even provincial talents; these ships' portraits were frequently commissioned in ports abroad and are the work of experienced painters who have acquired great technical skill in the depiction of water, sky and ship with all relevant details. Exhibition catalogue available.
