The aim of the museum is to view watercolour technique from the perspective of contemporary art.

We strive to stimulate discussion of the potentials of watercolour and build awareness of how artists today and yesterday have exploited water and pigment in their work. To that end we explore watercolour from three points of view: traditional watercolour, watercolour as a medium of expression, and watercolour as concept.
